We had a “Donuts with Santa” in our neighborhood today so took Li’l Cec and I don’t think he really “gets” Santa yet – he was much more interested in the donuts and OJ. I did, however, get him to sit in Santa’s lap long enough to have his photo taken and it will be emailed to me – how cool is that. I did take my little video cam but only got a blurb cos I have to hang on to Li’l Cec for dear life and if I’m also carrying a bag with all his stuff in it, I have no free hands. He managed to grab a huge teddy which was one of the prizes and high tail it thru the park with me in hot pursuit.

Greg and I are off to date night – we’re going to Mimi’s on a $5 off $15 purchase. To make the most of the coupon, Greg orders an entree and I order a side salad and eat part of his entree – Mimi’s always gives you delicious bread and muffins so I can guarantee we’ll both be full when we leave. Then we’ll take a spin around The Rim Shopping Center – there’s an Old Navy over there and I have that 30% off coupon (I only hit the sale racks tho’) and I also have a $3.50 off $10 coupon for Ulta so maybe I can pick up some bargains.
Back to decorating/clean up – I can’t wait til it’s all done.

Fabulous Friday
The Christmas decorating continues – got all the garlands up inside and made a good start on the tree – don’t think I’ll get to do much tomorrow as I have Li’l Cec. I love going thru all the balls and decorations; I have so many, far more than I can use and I can’t bear to get rid of them because they all have special meaning. Every year, I’ve bought the kids a Christmas decoration and planned to give them to Melody, Dave and Matt when they leave home; I try to get something that’s special to them and I’ve given Matt several different little guitars and fishing scenes. Dave has gotten soldiers, nutcrackers, and now it’s book ornaments as he’s always studying; Melody’s has been ballerinas, teddy bears, animals of all sorts and now it’s mini colognes. We also have a lot of figurines from all their favorite movies.
A friend of mine who moved away (unfortunately) always gave me handmade decorations at Christmas – I’d get a wreath, a sex of 6 Christmas balls, tabletop decorations and i still have them all, altho the Christmas balls are looking a bit faded. All my decorations have sentimental value and I just can’t bear to part with them.

Super Saturday
It’s pretty cold here in St. Robert, but bright and sunny. We saw all there was to see here yesterday and had dinner at Cracker Barrel, always a fun place to eat. They had some clothes on sale for 75% off and I got a cute long-sleeved black T decorated with pumpkins and a beige short sleeved T embellished with flowers, both $7 each.
Today drove to Springfield; there were some fall colors left but winter has definitely set in. Our first stop was Bass Pro Shops and we all had such a great time – had lunch there and they do a fantastic buffet for $8. Picked up a fall fleece on sale for $5.97, just hope I can fit in my case. Of course, we had to go to the Mall – for Matt’s sake of course – he needed to check out GNC; I got a cute red/black fleece for Li’l Cec in The Children’s Place for just $4 after coupon.
Just finished watching Home Alone 2 – what a classic movie. Time for bed.

Wonderful Wednesday
Hey, it’s Thanksgiving Eve!! Took my usual Wednesday trip to target this morning and stocked up on some Cliff bars to take to Matt on Friday; checked out the 75% off racks and they have some cute OS plaid shirts for $6.24 and Mossimo sweater dresses for $6.24 too. I got a black one but I really wanted beige. Bags of apples were marked $2.39, so only $1.39 after Target $1 coupon.
There were wall to wall people at Target today and when I went back with Greg at lunchtime, as we were going thru the checkout he said “Why are there so many people here, you can’t move?” And yes, he was serious – does Thanksgiving ring a bell??
Made my Sweet Potatoes with Streusel Topping this afternoon, and the batter for my pumpkin pancakes – it’s gonna be a sad sight when just Greg, Dave and I sit down to eat them tomorrow morning with walnuts in syrup without Matt. He’s gonna have his room all to himself as his two room-mates are heading home for Thanksgiving – hopefully there’ll be some guys for him to hang with on base til we get there Friday at lunchtime.
We have our meeting here tonight – the topic will of course be Thanksgiving – we’ve all got plenty to be thankful for. I haven’t made any goodies – tut tut!! I guess I’ll have to raid the pantry to see what cookies I can find.
Y’all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember families can be difficult, but they’re the only ones we have!!

Terrific Tuesday
Another Terrific Tuesday with Li’l Cec – he kept trying to get into the candy I have on the counter, much too tempting for a toddler. It was so hot and muggy today he didn’t enjoy his walk with Nanny and Grandad like he normally does and actually laid down on the sidewalk when we were almost home.
We’re going to Smashburger on a BOGO coupon for dinner tonight – I called ahead of time to check out the menu and they have some great salads. Dave will, of course, have one of their fantastic burgers. Then I have to go by TheChildrensplace – rememeber I went there Friday to do an exchange? Well, you wouldn’t believe it but the guy put the same Henley in the bag instead of the new one. I’ll whizz in quick so I won’t be tempted to buy anything else – I just love their clothes for Li’l Cec and they have such great sales and deals.

Marvellous Monday
Wow, Marvellous Monday rolls around again!! I remembered this morning I should’ve placed an In Memorium in my hometown newspaper, the Chard & Ilminster News for my darling niece Sarah who was killed in a car wreck 6 years ago. England is 6 hours ahead of us so it was already mid afternoon when I called and as always, Nina, who’s in charge of notices/announcements etc. at the News Desk was so kind and helpful. I managed to have my memorial to Sarah inserted in the nick of time so it will appear in the paper on Wednesday. “We miss you so much Darling Sarah, you’ll always be our Star”.
I made the Chocolate Pecan Pie this morning and I have to say it turned out wonderfully – Matt would be proud of me. I just have 2 other dishes to take to my sister in law’s house – Streusel Topped Sweet Potatoes and a brocolli dish – I think I’ll sprinkle some sun dried tomatoes on it – that’ll add some color to the table!!
Melody and Li’l Cec are coming over for dinner and I cooked a pot roast in the crock pot (I love my crock pot!), cheesy topped potato cubes, cauliflower and green beans; we’ve got a berry cobbler for dessert.

It seemed more like a Strange Saturday today not having Li’l Cec spend the night but it was just as well as Greg was under the weather; however, after 10 long hours of sleep, he’s up and at ‘em. We were able to talk to Matt on Skype this morning and meet his buddies – there was talk of a girl from one of these guys but Matt’s not spilling the beans on that one.

Marvellous Monday
Hmm, it wasn’t so marvellous this morning when I got home and realised I hadn’t used a bunch of my coupons at Target!!! Now I have to go back this evening, armed with all coupons and corresponding items. I must’ve had a senior moment…………… There’s a $10 coupon on the Target site for $10 off 3 sleepwear items and and apparently, there are some clearance items under $5. Maybe I’ll get a chance to take a gander tonight. I shall go with an entourage as Melody will want to go, David announced he’s tagging along as he’s spending too much time on the computer and of course Li’l Cec must come too.
I got stuck talking to a Time Warner Cable guy for ages as I inadvertently typed the wrong password when trying to pay my bill and I couldn’t get into my account. Another senior moment no doubt. I was so frustrated and then realized the poor guy was just trying to help – he suggested he take the payment over the phone and by the time we were done, my account SUDDENLY decided to cooperate and let me in!!! It’s bin one of those days.

Wow – nobody knew it wasn’t freshly baked and I didn’t tell ‘em – hmm where’s my rigorous honesty??
Back to Target after dinner with Li’l Cec in tow and had no problems at all redeeming my handful of missed coupons. I tried to use the Target sleepwear coupon tho’ and was told what I had was lingerie and so I couldn’t use it!! Ahhh well, I’ll check out another Target tomorrow…..
I have Li’l Cec overnight and he’s getting into everything, so gotta run…..
