 feel terrific today despite the fact that Greg and I were both awake at 4am talking about things……. We thank God, that He’s always there to listen to our problems, to give us comfort and guidance.Had my hair cut this morning – I love my stylist Bea, she’s always so friendly and I love looking around the salon, Petra’s, they have beautiful clothes, jewelry, accessories etc.  I fell in love with a scarf that was shades of purple and ruffled along the edge, sooo cute and only $12 – I was sure it’d be at least $30.  Petra’s reminds me of my favorite store of all time in Ruidoso – it’s called Visions and it’s right at the top of town; one of the highlights of going to Ruidoso, besides the fabulous scenery and weather is Visions.  If only I could buy their stuff online…… 

Li’l Cec played outside all morning til Melody came to pick him up at lunchtime – before he ventured out, he got into my dish of Hershey’s kisses and devoured a half a dozen (sorry Mel!!)    I went inside to get my coffee and while I was in there, he took off his sandals and went running all over the yard – Matt’s best friend Dalton has always gone barefoot and that kid is 18 now but it bothers me to think of those little piggies getting into dirt ‘n’ thing.

It was Family Night so we went out to dinner at Denny’s with a 20% off coupon – Dave had his fave, Chicken Fried Steak.  Seeing we were just across from North Star Mall, only seemed prudent that we should take a spin thru there so went to Godiva and got one last truffle at $1.45 to get my FREE Gift for this month from Godiva Rewards.  Next  to a beautiful Christmas Store that’s opened up to have a browse thru and got a beautiful Color Changing LED Glass Globe with an Angel inside for Greg.  You can buy these online too at really good prices. This is the day for Globes!!

Hmm, it wasn’t so marvellous this morning when I got home and realised I hadn’t used a bunch of my coupons at Target!!!  Now I have to go back this evening, armed with all coupons and corresponding items.  I must’ve had a senior moment……………  There’s a $10 coupon on the Target site for $10 off 3 sleepwear items and and apparently, there are some clearance items under $5.  Maybe I’ll get a chance to take a gander tonight.  I shall go with an entourage as Melody will want to go, David announced he’s tagging along as he’s spending too much time on the computer and of course Li’l Cec must come too.

I got stuck talking to a Time Warner Cable guy for ages as I inadvertently typed the wrong password when trying to pay my bill and I couldn’t get into my account.  Another senior moment no doubt.  I was so frustrated and then realized the poor guy was just trying to help – he suggested he take the payment over the phone and by the time we were done, my account SUDDENLY decided to cooperate and let me in!!!  It’s bin one of those days.

Melody and Li’l Cec came over for dinner – Teriyaki chicken, pasta salad, corn on the cob, green beans ‘n’ brocolli and I made this simple dessert that was such a hit.  I had some leftover cinnamon iced bundt cake, so I made some pumpkin mousse from a Jello pudding mix, and topped the warmed cake with the mousse and cream.  Wow – nobody knew it wasn’t freshly baked and I didn’t tell ‘em – hmm where’s my rigorous honesty??

Back to Target after dinner with Li’l Cec in tow and had no problems at all redeeming my handful of missed coupons.  I tried to use the Target sleepwear coupon tho’ and was told what I had was lingerie and so I couldn’t use it!!  Ahhh well, I’ll check out another Target tomorrow…..

I have Li’l Cec overnight and he’s getting into everything, so gotta run…..

I love that song by Craig Morgan “What I Love About Sunday”, I’ve got it playing in the background while I write this blog.  I’m not a huge Country Western fan, but Matt turned me onto it and now I tune in quite often.  My first exposure was way back in 1980 when I went to see John Denver in Tucson and I ran out next day and bought his album – course the country roads that take me home are all in Southwest England…..

Speaking of Matt, he’s now sporting a tattoo between his shoulder blades – I think it looks cool but I’m sure Greg’ll have something to say ’bout that!!

I spent my Super Saturday with my super grandson, Li’l Cec – after he had played outside for a long time, I dragged him over to the mall – he loves it honest!!!  As I was walking thru the mall, I caught sight of our good friend Joel standing outside Bare Escentuals swinging a Godiva bag.  He told me that he had “escaped Bare Escentuals” and left his wife inside – I must applaud him tho’ cos he didn’t have that “OMG, what am I doing here?” look on his face.  No greater love hath a man than he go to the mall with his wife………..

Just as Greg and I were about to take our walk, we heard loud “Ow, Ow, Ow” coming from upstairs – David had a charley horse, was hopping around and woke up Li’l Cec….  I thought maybe if I changed Li’l Cec and gave him some milk, he might be quiet and even go back to sleep, but no such luck, he was up and at ‘em.  So no walk for moi – thanks Dave….

Li’l Cec and I pulled weeds in the front yard this morning, he was so helpful and super excited about the worms.  What is it with kids and worms?  Even when they grow up, they’re still enthralled with ‘em – just ask Matt, he can’t fish without them.  When we came back inside, out came the leggos again strewn everywhere but that’s what he likes to do. 

Later, we went to the Post Office to mail off Matt’s care package and Jenny’s “Sarah” Package.  I always send her a Willow figurine, a christmas decoration – usually a star and some other goodies this time of the year for “Sarah’s Anniversary”.  My niece Sarah had a fatal car accident and died 3 days later on December 3 2004 and so Jenny and Colin go away for that week every year to the Cotswolds.  Matt’s car package was huge but only cost $15 whereas Jenny’s little package was a whopping $24 – I sure wish we still had surface mail.

Popped next door to Walgreens to pick up some OJ they have on sale for $2.99 – they also have a 50c coupon in their November booklet PLUS a sign on the fridge with the coupon attached.  However when I checkout the salesperson said the machine wasn’t taking it “Soooo?” I thought but pointed out that the coupon was for the product I was buying and BTW there was a sign and coupon the fridge.  She kept trying to tell me I couldn’t use it and finally got a sales manager who said I couldn’t use a mfg Q and a store Q – I was so glad I carry the Walgreens policy with me cos I whipped it out but before I could show her in writing, she agreed to overide it.  Wow!!!

We’re going out to dinner to IHOP tonight on a B1G1 FREE entree coupon I clipped from the Sunday newspaper insert coupons, and then a little shopping afterwards.  Dave wants to use his 40% off coupon at Borders HERE.  It’s only valid today & tomorrow (11/9-11/10).

I did myself marvellously proud today at Target – spent $24 and saved $71.67.  I had hoped to find some Halloween/Harvest cookies still lurking around but no such luck – no candy either; it went really quickly this year and also I noticed there wasn’t much in the way of T shirts etc.  Sooo I don’t have a new Halloween T for next year unless I can find one someplace else.

We stayed up sooo late last night talking to Matt and looking for flights and trying to figure out what to do about Thanksgiving and then I couldn’t sleep.  Still we get a super extra hour tonight – oh joy!!  This morning, we booked our flight for the Friday after Thanksgiving, coming back the following Monday – Dave’s looking forward to having the place to himself again but Melody won’t be pleased about me missing a couple of times having Li’l Cec.

Talking of Li’l Cec, he gets more darling every time I see him; last night when I picked him up, he pointed to the cat Melody has adopted and said “my titty” and I laughed my socks off.  He is really bonding with his grandad now – I think Greg quite scared him for a while (and all our kids say “yeah…….”).   He was happy to find some leftover Chex Mix from MyGetTogether on Wednesday night – I think that’s his new favorite snack now.

We took him for a long walk this morning and then we went over to Target to check out what was left of the Halloween stuff, got a couple of pairs of socks and a mug for Li’l Cec.  I was disappointed to see the candy is still at 50% off – what the heck – mark it down to 75% off!  I had a bit of a confrontation with the checkout girl and her superior – I bought two coffeemate liquid creamers and handed over 2 mfg coupons and the checkout girl said “you’re only allowed 1 per transaction”.  I informed her she was mistaken, that I can use as many mfg Q’s as I like and so she called over her superior who said the same thing so I just reiterated what I’d just said and they looked skeptical but scanned my coupons.  It is getting beyond ridiculous when you’re questioned about ligit mfg coupons.

We’re going to Romeo’s tonight – got a great deal from LivingSocial.com – $26 worth of food for $15.  They do the most wonderful salads in big clay pots so I’ll probably have that but all their food looks good.  Then we’re heading over to Sam’s to get big bags of walnuts and pecans (and hopefully some other goodies) and I hope there’s plenty of Christmassy stuff left. I guess I’ll be making the choccy pecan pies this year – Matt always made them, they were so much better than mine.

Then hopefully we’ll finally get to see the end of Brothers.
